A Deaths Head Hawk Moth (Acherontia lachesis) housed in a 10 x10" frame with plexiglass front. 

 

A notorious moth made famous by the Silence of the Lambs film. Its colours and patterns are used to fool bees, as it likes to invade hives and eat their honey. They have been written into lots of mythology and superstitions due to the skull like shape on their bodies. 

 

This is one of the Asian species of Deaths Head. Regular size specimens are under 11cm wingspan and extra large are 11cm +.
